Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RightReviews Shopify app and the rightreviews.app website ("the Service"), provided by RightReviews ("we", "us"). By installing the App or using the Service, you ("Merchant", "you") agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to bind the Shopify store on which the App is installed. The App is intended for Shopify merchants using a current Shopify plan.

2. The Service

RightReviews lets Shopify merchants collect, import, display, and manage product reviews on their storefront. Features include review collection forms, CSV/Google Sheets import, theme-app-extension widgets, email review requests, and cross-product review sharing.

We may modify, add, or remove features at any time. We will give reasonable notice for material changes that reduce functionality on a paid plan.

3. Account and access

Your account is tied to your Shopify shop. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your Shopify admin credentials secure
• All activity on your shop, including actions taken by your staff or third parties you authorize
• Ensuring the content you import or publish (reviews, photos, product data) does not violate any third party's rights

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App to publish reviews you know to be false, fabricated, or paid-for without disclosure
• Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, infringing, hateful, or sexually explicit
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our source code
• Resell, sublicense, or white-label the App without our written permission
• Use the App to violate Shopify's Acceptable Use Policy or any applicable law
• Scrape, bulk-export, or use the App's data outside the merchant's own store operations

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice.

5. Plans, billing, and refunds

Plans

Pricing is in USD and is billed through Shopify's standard app billing.

Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly via Shopify. You authorize Shopify to charge your store's billing method on our behalf. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice.

Free plan

We offer a dedicated, always-free plan with no time limit (up to 50 orders per month). You can stay on the free plan indefinitely or upgrade to a paid plan at any time. Paid plans do not include a separate trial period — you can downgrade to Free or uninstall at any time.

Refunds

We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months. If you uninstall, you retain access through the end of the billing period. If you believe you were billed in error, email support@rightreviews.app within 14 days.

Price changes

We may change pricing with 30 days' email notice. Existing subscribers keep their current price for at least one full billing cycle after notification.

6. Reviews and merchant content

You retain all rights to reviews and content collected through your store. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, and process that content solely to operate the Service for you.

You are solely responsible for:

• The accuracy and lawfulness of imported review data (e.g., CSV imports from another platform)
• Obtaining any consents required from your customers to publish their reviews and photos
• Moderating reviews on your store and removing content that violates our Acceptable Use rules or applicable law

We may, but are not obligated to, remove content that violates these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

We own all rights in the App, the website, our branding, and any analytics or aggregated data derived from use of the Service. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your store during your subscription.

You may not use our name, logo, or trademarks without prior written permission, except to factually identify RightReviews as a tool you use.

8. Third-party services

The Service uses Shopify, Vercel, Supabase, Cloudflare, and Resend as subprocessors. We are not responsible for outages, data loss, or actions of these third parties beyond our reasonable control.

9. Termination

You may terminate at any time by uninstalling the App from your Shopify admin. We may terminate or suspend your access immediately if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the Service in a way that exposes us to legal risk.

After termination, your data is retained for 30 days then permanently purged, per our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reviews collected will increase sales.

We make no representation that the Service will be compatible with every Shopify theme, app, or third-party integration.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100.

We will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data, even if advised of the possibility.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits — in that case the limits apply to the maximum extent permitted.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your use of the Service, (b) review content you collect or publish, (c) your breach of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, unless otherwise required by mandatory law in your jurisdiction.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered merchants and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
